Parents

What is the aim of the NeoSep-ADAPT activities involving parents?

We want to design a clinical trial that investigates best antibiotic management of neonatal sepsis, with the aim of making the research less burdensome for parents. We feel that parents with babies who have previously spent time on a NICU in the UK, and who may have even been treated for an infection or taken part in research, are best placed to help us find the right approach and ensure trials are designed and delivered more appropriately in future.

What am I being asked to do?

We are hoping to interview parents/caregivers whose baby spent time on a neonatal intensive care unit and:

  • Experienced an infection during their hospital stay, OR
  • Participated in any type of research study during their hospital stay.

You are being invited to attend an interview with our Social Scientist (Lauren Wallis). This will last approximately 1-hour, and more information can be found on the Participant Information Sheet. If you have any queries or concerns, please get in touch with the research team via the Contact Us page and we will respond as soon as possible.

The interview will include discussing relevant topics surrounding these personal experiences. Your input is incredibly important for the NeoSep-ADAPT project, which is aiming to improve the way neonatal infection research is conducted in future.
